Presentation Skills Training Course

Excellent presenting skills are now vital to all businesses – they are also sadly notable by their absence.

Having good presenting skills is all about being yourself, as we all buy in to what a relaxed and authentic presenter is saying. At Elevation Station you can learn techniques to look exactly that – even when you don’t feel relaxed and authentic. You can also learn to develop ways of playing to your own natural strengths to become even more unique in your presenting skills. This dynamic and positive presenting skills course is designed to help boost confidence and increase effectiveness of public communication. We work with people in and around London, the UK, and the rest of the world both face to face and live online.

An Elevation Station Presenting skills workshop online or in person could include any of the following::
Understanding the dynamics of the presentation room (or online forum)
The psychology of presenting
Handling nerves
Slide-deck configuration
Delivering concise, impactful messages
Creating memorable messages
Keeping the audience's attention
Making the most of questions
Get rid of cliched presentations to help your people be the most credible, clear and engaging presenters they can be
Ali's Story

Ali flew into London from Dubai to do presentation skills training with me for two days. Ali was a wonderful man to work with because as soon as he walked through the door and told me his name, he then said “I can’t go on doing what I’m doing. Please help me, I will do everything you ask”. As a presentation skills course leader, you love delegates like this. So I worked with Ali who talked about his presentations and their context.

It turned out he presented once a week, remotely, to his two bosses. And they only gave him a maximum of half an hour to do it. He always presented with the goal of needing a decision from his bosses for him to proceed and he very often failed to get one. He took this personally as he felt he could be doing more.

Towards the end of the second day of the presentation skills training, Ali was working on an exercise in which, if you need to have data on a slide, there is a way of structuring it to make it more accessible. It was here, at this point in the presenting course, where he had his lightbulb moment. He suddenly realised that instead of presenting for 25 minutes then allowing 5 minutes for his bosses to come to a decision, he could actually get his message across in 5 minutes and then allow 25 minutes for his bosses to come to a decision. He could then anticipate any difficult questions they may ask and have answers ready for them if needed.

Ali was elated as he now knew exactly what he needed to do. I was very happy too, as there’s no way I could have predicted this would have been the solution for him. Fortunately, my facilitative approach to this presentation skills training allows for this to happen. It allows for people to make it their own and develop their own ideas.
