People Management Skills Training Course

Our management course is designed to help you understand and engage with what a manager is supposed to do. This course is suitable for newly appointed managers, line managers, supervisors, those with who have to manage remote or hybrid teams and anyone planning on stepping in to managing people.

Many managers are promoted to the management role because they’re good at their existing job, but they’re often expected to step up with little or no management training. Many do so with amazing competence but many struggle, and whether successful or not, most will encounter unnecessary stress.

We know that most managers welcome help in the form of new knowledge, insights, tools, tips and techniques, so that is what we cater for. Since we also know delegates may bring more bespoke needs to the training, we are able to adapt the training to suite their needs.

Karen's Story

Karen realised she wasn’t very good. Fortunately, she also realised why, and that was because she, in her own words, didn’t have a clue about what she was supposed to be doing as a manager.It's this kind of self-awareness which brought her to look for training. It was also why she had sought help as soon as possible.

After being in the position of Manager for only four weeks she was thinking of quitting as asking to be demoted to a lesser paid job which didn't require her to be responsible for other people. The main reason was all the work she was expected to do which wasn't on her job description. She also found it incredibly difficult to manager her temper when people she managed didn't work to the level she thought they should be working at. Even the people who she thought were friends had suddenly decided to "take a back seat" as she called it.

It's very common to find myself training people in People Skills even before they are promoted to management and I think that's a brilliant idea. The next best is what Karen did and get help as soon as possible.

Working with her proved to be very enjoyable as she found herself now able to design her own style of management which suited her current skills set and allowed her to 'know' what she should be doing at any time and how she should be doing it. She now has a plan in place for everything which allows her to prioritise her time far better than she did before. She has also become very good at motivating her team.
